She has always been in constant research of new ideas by studying, varying, experimenting and, in recent years, perfecting pop technique. In her latest works she is inspired by famous paintings, famous people, Super Heroes, and she represents them with her style, in order to offer the public a variety of works, each with a personal touch of uniqueness and originality. In her paintings you can always notice the color purple which derives from the cooperation of two colors that have opposite meanings: on the one hand calm and meditation, on the other energy and impulsiveness. This particularity makes purple ambivalent and mysterious and links it to the idea of intuitiveness and magic and suggests that "everything is possible" and that the future is a wonderful unknown; green the color of nature, stability, health. Green is often associated with the idea of rebirth; Finally, orange is a shade that symbolizes energy, action and inner peace. In her works they will not be missing: polka dots, considered in the eighties as a symbol of optimism, black and white lines philosophically, black and white have always been a symbolic organization of contradiction and, precisely because they are opposites, they can be sometimes reverse; last but not least, the red heart (symbol of her love for art). Her inspiration: Frida, a strong, tenacious woman, a true fighter, an example to follow: with extreme awareness that pain can always be survived, and she thought it was necessary to shape and transform this strong evil into something wonderful. “Mariella reinterprets giving new life to the classics and more, without fear of being out of place, because her art acts as a ferryman, bringing the past into the contemporary by telling it through shapes and colours..” Health Issues: Experienced polio as a child and a severe bus accident at age 18, which led to numerous surgeries and chronic pain.
