The Materials

After collaborating for over fifteen years with the most important fashion brands and magazines, creating shoots and projects in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America, Alex Belli began a personal research path that led him to transcend the boundaries of commercial photography, to explore material as a new visual language.

In 2012, he founded his own creative studio and began experimenting with the fusion of photography and painting, working on materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, and bronze. From this evolution, THE MATERIALS was born, an artistic project that brings together his most iconic images, reinterpreted as unique material works.

In THE MATERIALS, photography is no longer just surface, but becomes body, texture, metal, light.
Each shot is printed on metal supports and then hand-painted with acrylic paint and layers of resin, transforming it into a new art form somewhere between sculpture and contemporary painting.
Alex Belli's work moves between aesthetics and introspection, glamour and spirituality, blending the perfection of fashion photography with the material power of painting.
His language narrates time, sensuality, and the essence of the image as a living, tangible energy.
Today his creations are collected in the cycle THE MATERIALS , exhibited in exhibitions, galleries and immersive installations dedicated to the metamorphosis of photography into an artistic object.
